| So, it seems as if I haven't been updating lately. I know, I
know. Shame on me. The reason: because I've been lazy as of late--actually, in
my case, more than just "as of late."
Well, to update you on those who still check Xanga--I sure still do, honestly!--not
a whole lot has happened to me since June. For the summer, I spent a good hour
or two reading the newspaper and some magazine articles each day, while also
maintaining my movie-watching average of one movie a day. Thinking back to
summer makes me realize just how slow things move in Camas/Vancouver in
comparison to Seattle.
There's hardly anything to do in Vancouver.
But it sure is peaceful. In that way, I miss it.
So far, school hasn't started off well for me. I'm not doing so hot in both
Biochemistry and Biology. What's so gawd-damn awful is how I keep taking tests.
It seems as if the pressure of test taking has finally seeped into my brain.
Back when, sure, I used to feel pressure, but not in a way that stirred me into
a panic each time I was reading a problem. Now I am missing problems that are
extremely simple due to over thinking. Well, that has sort of changed in the
last two tests. Things still aren't perfect, but they're steadily improving.
Now my only problem is preventing myself from changing correct answers into
incorrect ones--too much second-guessing. If only I take in the advice I hand
out.
Anyway, talk about school is depressing, so I'll move on to another subject:
Piano! Actually, I am registered piano lessons this quarter (so skip the
statement about school + depression) and they're taught by a very nice lady
named Dr. Regina Yeh. She's young and very passionate about piano playing,
which is awesome, of course. Ermm...what else. The piano club is still up and
runnin' while nobody is showing up. (Sheesh! I'm just digging myself farther
down the hole, aren't I?)
Ah, now I got it.
Frasier. I cannot believe I found that show to be incredibly boring as a
middle-high school student. It cheers me up when I'm bored, and the best part
is that the setting of the show takes place in Seattle. Living in Seattle, I sometimes feel as if Frasier is fighting through his insane problems somewhere close.
Overall, I'd say that this entry is filled with words of a depressed
individual. No need to worry! I'm not depressed! It's simply unfortunate that I
have decided to update right after taking two midterms. Until next time, sleep
well and....(you can finish the sentence. I'm too tired to think right now)

Amazing.
It’s taken me half a year to come up with four updates this year. I remember a
time in my life when it would only take me a week to reach four updates.
Anyways, who wants an update on Aaron!?
So
my sophomore year was tough. My grades only went downhill so that was a drag.
On the bright side, I’m almost finished with all the pre-med classes. I only
have Biology 220 (the last class of the biology series) left to complete. After
that, on come the MCATS and Medical
School
applications. Oh geez. I do miss High School. Let that be a warning to those
who are still young! Enjoy Middle/High School while you still are in it!
So!
By trying to avoid discussing academics -because it’s one of the most
depressing topics to talk about- I’ve been applying to a whole bunch of
retail/food jobs. Hopefully, the very little thinking required will help rid my
worries for the summer. Oh I tried though, to get a meaningful job that is. I
applied for a couple chemistry-related summer programs, but I either got no
response or rejection….
Darn.
It’s really difficult to stop talking about my future. Alright, so during
school I spent just about every school break at a Chinese restaurant called
Golden Chopsticks. Their
Website The place is owned by a friend of my mother, and the owner has two
of the nicest kids (Nick and Natalie) I have ever met. Oh, they fed me tons of
food. Compared to UW, where I would eat what $7.00 could afford, I was stuffed
until I was full and then fed some more. In fact, even though I was full, I
would still sneak a bowl or two of hot and sour soup in between meals. To make
my tummy feel even worse, we would eat at very unconventional times, 3 p.m. and 11
p.m. which would leave my stomach rumbling throughout the night and
the next morning. Freaky! Anyways, the location of their restaurant is awesome.
It’s right smack in a shopping center so I spent many hours reading nerd comics
in Borders and a few minutes in cool clothing shops.
Lately,
I’ve been wondering if I’m being punished by some spiritual force. Almost every
time I start to think about how bad the skin on my face is, a pimple appears so
that when it is gone, I start to think that my skin isn’t that bad. The same
thing applies with my grades, feet, and love life. Haha. Gotcha there, I still
have no love life. As sad as it may sound, I did nothing to change that this
year. Luckily, I didn’t end up doing something stupid like last year, but who
knows. Maybe I’ll find some nice lady at the retirement center next week.

| "(woman comes out of the restroom) It's been a while.....(woman
continues to walks past John Lovitz and Tom Hanks in SNL skit)......and
it'll be a while"
-John Lovitz in High School Graduation skit-
Alright, so my absence from xanga hasn't been as pathetic. In fact it
has almost no correlation with the quote. I just feel a bit
disconnected from xanga. I can't believe I used to update this thing
every 1-3 days. Oh how times have changed.
So what's up you ask? Oh nothing really. What about yourself? jk. This
quarter has actually been a bit depressing. I don't believe I'm doing
very well in my classes compared to my last two quarters here at the U.
The feeling of doing worse with the increased difficulty in courses is
tearing me apart! Alas, not all is lost. There's still finals week in
which a lot of review will be done. I bought a couple (9) energy drinks
for the very first time last night. They were cheap (50 cents / 20 oz),
so I thought what the heck; I need to work hard this week.
As for entertainment, I've been watching the Spiderman Cartoon series
that used to be aired on FOX. I find it amusing how Spiderman can spend
so much time talking while fighting and web slinging across the city.
Peter Parker is definently the ultimate multi-tasker. The guy can fight
bad guys, take pictures of himself in battle, and provide enough of his
opinions to make Simon Cowell seem like a mute. Haha lame joke there,
but it ties well with my next show that I have been keeping up with. I
admit it. I'm addicted to American Idol. The greatest parts of the show
thus far? There was this suuuuuuper hot girl who made it into the top
12 girls and then quickly got eliminated once America realized she only
made it far into the competition because of her looks. Anyways, there's
these two African-American 16-year-old girls who are super, super
talented, and I just knoooooow they're going to be superstars in the
future.
Anyways, I'm coming back next Thursday! It's sad. Each time I go home,
I feel like nothing ever happens in Vancouver compared to
Seattle. There's always a ton of crimes committed in Seattle - in the local news
- while in Vancouver, all we get are lame stories about how a dog was
lost. jk. I haven't been become that corrupted.
Next update: According to the time it has taken me to update this year, August 2067?

| Wow. I don’t think I have ever gone 24 days without an
update on Xanga before.
The quarter has been moving by pretty fast. Biology is
killing me with the heavy amount of reading assigned each night. O.Chem is okay
and the two labs a week are actually alright. I’m loving music theory. The
subject itself is boring, but listening to the prof (David Kappy) talk is about
as entertaining as any class gets. It’s crazy how the start of the fifth week is
tomorrow.
Part of what makes Xanga so great
is the freedom to
complain. Here it goes. This weekend stunk because I was tired for some
odd
reason throughout Saturday and Sunday. While coming back from QFC
today, my bag
broke and since carrying my groceries required the use of both hands, I
had to
fold my umbrella back and become soaking wet. I hate the rain! I also
lost my ID card on Friday. That has made life so much more complicated
since I've been buying takeout this entire weekend. Ahhhhh I can't wait
till tomorrow!
I guess the stink in this weekend is what I deserve for
having such a great weekend last weekend. I played basketball everyday day and watched
three awesome movies: The Machinist, The Butterfly Effect, and Identity. I
thought The Butterfly Effect was going to be the average teen thriller, but it
turned out to be so much more. Identity is the best movie out of the three I
listed. Argh…I don’t want to say too much. They’re all about people with
psychological disorders…so if that’s up your alley, check them out!
Lately, I’ve become addicted to the TV show, The Office. I
absolutely love the main character of the show – the same guy who stars in the
40-year-old virgin.
Other than that…nothing much! A request for pictures of UW
has been made. I’ll try to have those posted asap

Isn't that the ugliest schedule you have ever seen? I blame those with
senior and junior registration...They took all 350 slots of the early
Chem class.
Gawd....Thank god quarters go by real fast.
I'm really scared about Biology because that's the last pre-med course
I haven't taken yet! I also hear it's the most diffcult out of Gen.
Chem, OChem, and Physics. Oh well. Although the schedule looks like a
handful, it's only 14 credits! Sheesh!
I really hope things start rolling along after this week. Time has been going by so slow. Hurry up time! Speed up!
